30 years after Bob Marley’s death, Jamaica continues to be on top of the worldwide music scene, especially through the genre of dancehall. Hit Me with Music is the story of Jamaica’s dancehall music. Packed full of interviews with performers, dancers, school children and youth on the street, dancehall music lovers explain the content of the polemic dancehall lyrics, the context in which these songs are born and what this musical phenomenon represents in their lives.
