Night of Carnival screenings showcase three films that explore the wonder and magic of Trinidad’s Carnival: Pan! is a short film that follows the Panorama Festival; Russ Henderson: The Pan Man is a tribute to one of the creators of the Notting Hill Carnival; and, Mas Man, an elegaic and masterly celebration of one of the 20th century’s greatest Carnival masters, designer Peter Minshall.

The Being Caribbean screening showcases three films that explore different angles to what it means to be Caribbean: Caribbean Skin, African Identity, a personal exploration of the conflicts and ambiguities of the contemporary Caribbean psyche; The Almighty Penis, Jimmel Daniel’s sequel to his controversial 2009 documentary Power of the Vagina; and, Hit Me with Music, a film on the roots and essence of dancehall.
